If you LOVE to binge watch…here’s a fun little checklist for you 😉
If you are looking to keep your kids busy, these toys and activities for toddlers have been huge hits in my home. A few items are tried and true toys my boys love. Others are new ones we’ve ordered that are keeping Leo busy. Also, I just wanted to share a tip I’ve found helpful for those making our old toys feel new.
HOW TO MAKE OLD TOYS FEEL NEW TIP: When we decided to stay home this past week, I began organizing the toys. I took a good chunk of toys (that my boys love!) and put them away in a storage closet. First off, I was surprised to see them playing nicer with less toys available. Then, throughout the week, I’ve been rotating toys… bringing ones out of the closet and taking some of the current ones away. I find the boys are so excited to see the toys again that it makes playtime feel fresh and new.
the #1 item on this list that has kept Leo occupied for HOURS. Basically, these tiny bead grow into soft marbles that even I enjoy playing with. We keep them in large containers and Leo cannot get enough of them!
My teacher friend told me that play-doh is great for Leo while he is out of school to work his hand muscles. We love play-doh but I never thought of it that way, so I thought a fresh set and a little table was a cute idea for him.
I get a lot of questions on which scooter Leo uses and this is the exact one. I did a TON of research and this one seemed to top every list for toddler scooters. I think what sets this one apart is how it absorbs bumps and rocks and whatever else Leo drives over. We even let him bring this inside this week to play and it worked great on carpet!
With many of us doing more at home workouts, I thought it would be helpful to share some of my home gym essentials. They’re all from Amazon Prime so you can build your home gym in no times. These home gym essentials can be used for all types of workouts, and, of course, I can help you pick a workout plan best suited for you here.
MY HOME GYM ESSENTIALS
These are all items that I have and use regularly in my home gym. They also happen to all be available on Amazon prime, so you can build your home gym in no time.
Dumbbells usually cost $1 per pound. Oddly enough, if you click the pair it’s more expensive than buying 2 singles?! Anyway, if I could only have 1 dumbbell set, I find the 10 lb option to be the most useful for both upper and lower body exercises. I also like pre-weighted dumbbells in 5s and 15s.
Without a doubt, this is the most useful option for dumbbells. You can build the dumbbells to be lighter ~5lbs up to ~20 lbs each dumbbell so it definitely allows for a greater weight training challenge at home and is the most cost effective option. This is the brand I’ve used for years and love!
Bands simulate a cable machine that would be found at a gym. The constant tension on the muscles is very effective. I like this particular set because of all the accessories/attachments and the door anchor!
A bench is a versatile piece of equipment allowing for incline presses, step ups, hip thrusts and so much more. This one in particular also has leg extension and leg curl options, which acts as 2 popular pieces of gym equipment.
An adjustable barbell set is something I got after a few years and it’s made one of the bigger impacts in my home gym. It allowed me to do a lot more exercises. I like the adjustability so I can do things like bicep curls and squats. Also, these adjustable options are lighter and shorter as compared to an olympic barbell, making them very versatile.
FYI – the set my husband got me for Christmas 2 years ago was both a dumbbell and barbell set for only $85. It’s not sold online, but I wanted to show where he got it (here)!
If your budget allows and if you are interested in heavy weight training, an olympic barbell is a big deal. When I first got mine, I really felt as though I could do a gym style workout right at home, especially with bench press, deadlifts and squats!
I suggest a 10 lb and 15 lb set of bumper plates (they’re made of rubber so more home gym friendly)
This one has both a bench and a rack. At this price, I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the quality. You may recognize this one because it’s the exact one I have and we’ve had it for 5+ years now. The rack allows you to use your olympic barbell for benching, squats and so much more! You can also obviously move the bench around and use it on its own.
A super fun, at home cardio option (and my 2 1/2 year old thinks this is his toy so it’s really a win. This is not only an amazing cardio workout but also always gets my core sore. The folding design makes it more convenient.
I was blown away by these Amazon Prime finds for swimsuits and cover ups. The quality is great. The designs are adorable. And, they’ll arrive on your doorstep in no time. I purchased a TON of options in a variety of styles and then selected these pieces that were the best.
I wanted to share some photos of myself wearing these pieces so you can get a better idea of fit on someone as well as the colors. There aren’t any filters or editing on the pics so the color is as accurate as possible. Also, I have all the swim suits here but did forget to hop in a few of these.

This swimsuit covers you up yet the cut out detail still gives you a fun, sexy feel.
Whenever the weather warms up, I have an overwhelming desire to purge my closet. ….and fill it with new things. I am pretty shoe obsessed lately. From sandals to sneakers and even fun heels, these are my current favorite shoes that are available on Amazon Prime, of course. I wasn’t able to resist them and I don’t think you will be either ;):)
available in 10 plus colors and styles; these are the ones I ordered. I almost bought a nearly identical pair for $170 and just before I hit the submit order button, I said… “check Amazon” so impressed!
available in 10+ colors. I have several of these slides and LOVE the white on white version
Adidias Swift Run hereor here (if sold out in leopard print)
If you follow along with me day-to day, you are well aware that I have been wearing these for the past few months nonstop. I love these shoes and constantly get compliments on them. They are available on amazon in multiple colors. However, this print is highly requested and not always available there, so I included another link from a different site…just in case 🙂
This Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Latte is one of my favorite iced coffee drinks and my go to healthy Starbucks drink orders lately. It’s subtly sweet but certainly not too sweet. There’s a hint of vanilla bean but it’s definitely not vanilla-y. It provides the perfect energy buzz. I hope you love this drink as much as I do!
HOW TO ORDER:
Order a GRANDE Cold Brew
Request sugar free vanilla
Request LIGHT CREAM (half n half); ask for this in a small cup on the side (OR for a dairy-free option, request LIGHT coconut milk in a small cup on the side), just 2-3 oz
As for 1 scoop of vanilla bean powder in the cup with the CREAM or COCONUT MILK
Get your drink
Stir the vanilla bean powder and milk/cream together a bit
Happy Weekend! Below you will find a blueprint of what I am cooking this week. My new weekend approach is to enjoy Saturday as a day of run and rest… whether it’s taking a nap when my kids nap or enjoying a night out, I’m going with the flow of *fun.* On Sundays, I am all about productivity and setting myself up for a week that runs smoothing, including what we will be eating. I hope this helps you plan too!
WHAT IS MEAL PLANNING?
Meal planning is exactly as it sounds: planning your meals ahead of time. For me, I plan out all my dinners and then just think of some breakfast and snack options.
I plan it out exactly as you’ll see below. I check what i have on hand and i’ll grocery shop for any necessary items.
LG EAT YOUR WAY LEAN MEAL PLAN:
Many of the recipes that I will reference in these eating + meal planning posts can be found in my Meal Plan. As part of my meal plan, I send weekly cookbooks out each week of the challenge, so this is how I am incorporating those recipes into what I am eating this week.
I HIGHLY recommend this plan to those women who want to see results through food. It’s an easy-to-follow eating approach that teaches you macro combinations, portions + even optimal timing. Yet, you’ll still be eating your favorite foods like pizza, pasta, cookies, chips and chocolate (seriously!)
MY DINNER TRICK
I like to cook a fresh, different dinner each night. This approach is magic because…
I actually get to enjoy a just-made delicious dinner (that’s quick to make, typical LG style)
my cravings kick in at night and having a delicious dinner helps curb my PM cravings + snacking
I double the recipe so that I always have leftovers for the follow day’s lunch
Here’s what I’ll be cooking this week. If you’re following my approach, don’t forget to double your serving while you cook to have a healthy, reheatable lunch option for the next day.
Just a reminder that recipes I reference below are found in this Meal Plan.
BREAKFAST – my family is ALLLLL about breakfast for dinner…or really breakfast food any time of the day. I did this last week and when I tell you my family loves it, we’re doing it again this week!
Here’s what I’m planning on:
eggs + eggs whites (I like 2 eggs, 1 egg white ratios)
shredded cheddar cheese
seasoned salt (Lawry’s)
Van’s waffles topped with sliced strawberries
Turkey bacon (I love it extra crunchy, cooked in the microwave)
MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN WITH SALSA FRESCA –
Chicken is such a stable in our household. I love how versatile chicken meals are. This one is no different. The peprika, cumin, onion & garlic powder spices season the chicken perfectly. Top that with the homemade salsa and you have a clean fresh mediterranean tasting dish.
recipe found in Spring Cookbook 2019
LOADED BAKE POTATO AND CHICKEN CASSEROLE – This casserole combines everything you love about a loaded baked potatoes with the convince of a casserole dish. This meal is a quick chop, assemble, and bake recipe and has chicken to help make it a balanced protein, fat and carbohydrate meal.
CROCKPOT LASAGNA SOUP – A nice warm and tasty crockpot soup that will fill you up and likely leave you with lots of leftovers for the week.
recipe found in Holiday 2018 cookbook
BLT LETTUCE WRAPS – skip the bread and enjoy a guilt free BLT. Super easy meal to make and surprisingly much more satisfying and filling than you’d think. Feel free to top with avocado to add some healthier fats and “beef” up the meal.
recipe Spring 2018 Cookbook
EASY PARMESAN LEMMON RISOTTO – growing up my mom would always make our family a risotto. So much so that we had it too much, where we no longer craved it anymore. However, this one is absolutely delicious! The parmesan and lemon add just the right accent to the risotto.

TREAT MEAL! I use Saturday night as a time to enjoy treats – go ahead and enjoy! Share what you’re indulging in on social and tag me because I am all about it haha.
I rounded up the top Instagram workouts that I’ve posted over the past year. These are the workouts that were the most popular in terms of views, bookmarks and shares. If you find yourself wanting to shake things up with your workout routine, scroll this page and try one of these workouts. I’ve detailed each workout below by title and also provided the workout from the caption as well as a link to the post so you can watch the workout video.
✔️EMOM = every minute on the minute
I love this style but especially when I have a set amount of time I can workout
8 reps/side: Single Leg Rows – to help keep balance throughout this movement, reach the dumbbell down and slightly across the midline of your body .
5 reps/side: Switch Hand Walking Lunges – balance + coordination = more core
12 reps: KB Jacks – like a kettlebell swing with an added hop justttt to increase the intensity
6 reps/side : 1/2 Pistol Squat or Assisted Pistol Squat – I am not good at this move so I opt for a 1/2 rep or assisted modification. never fear a modification!
4 reps/side push up + KB move – throughout this, think: pelvis tucked, strong through the shoulders, straight spine .
◼️Rest 1-2 minutes in between rounds
◼️Complete 6 rounds (or whatever you have time/endurance for)
Instead of doing the same old, same old, try new moves or using different equipment. I actually don’t like ab workouts so when I do them, I try to get creative + try new things.
MOVES SHOWN (I’m totally making up these names bc I have no clue what they’re technically called)
1️⃣KNEE TUCK INS – it’s important to stay strong in your shoulders/chest/back so that you don’t cave in
2️⃣PIKE UPS – keep your back as flat as a board + core tight
3️⃣SINGLE LEG SLIDE OUTS – set up before you begin the movement by aligning your spine, engaging your core and staying strong in your lats as you slide out
If you’re looking to include more abmovements into your lifts, here are a few other exercises that really recruit the core…
✔️bosu ball exercises ✔️single leg movements
(ie: single leg lunges)
1️⃣PUSH UP STEP UPS – go slowly with these and focus on keeping your core tight/straight back throughout (I’m still working on this!)
2️⃣UNDERHAND GRIP CHEST PRESS – a great switch up; bring the weight down into your lower chest/upper abdomen
3️⃣HIGH PLANK REAR DELT FLYES – this was a move I added in as an extreme challenge – go light with the weight and focus on keeping form
4️⃣HANDS TO FOREARM PLANK – keep your core/body as motionless as possible as you move from your forearms to hands
full workout can be found in the Weight Training Plan X HOME or GYM
1️⃣MODIFIED BURPEE TO SHOULDER PRESS – hold that high plank for a quick second and jump your feet outside of the dumbbells/hands before you press up
2️⃣CURL TO PRESS – focus on keeping that core tight; this becomes especially hard as the workout progresses but you can really use this as an ab workout when you remain aligned + engaged
3️⃣SIDE PLANK REACH OVERS – gosh these are good keep the dumbbell close to your body as you pull + press it up
4️⃣INCLINE PUSH UPS – 40 reps is tough, so focus on form + rest as needed. Think straight spine + elbows back
full workout can be found in the Weight Training Plan X HOME or GYM
INNER THIGH EXERCISES:
1️⃣Standing Adductors – you can do this with a cable or band, just be sure to keep constant muscle tension and use light weight/resistance
2️⃣Plie Toe Squats – elevate to your toes to feel this in the inner thighs even more
3️⃣Stationary Side Lunges – lunge down deep into one side
4️⃣Lying Adductors – I take these to almost failure .
You could do a circuit of these (15ish reps each exercise) or pick 1 or 2 and do 2 sets of 15 reps.
15 reps- overhead sit ups
10 reps- high plank knee tucks
10 reps- plank roll outs
10 reps- crossover crunches
10 reps- hands to feet passes
✔️no rest in between movements, rest 1-2 mins in between rounds
✔️Complete 3 rounds
This casserole combines everything you love about a loaded baked potato with the convenience of a family-friendly, casserole dish. I’m always one for a meal that just requires me to chop, assemble and bake, and this recipe certainly checks that box. Also, I’ve made sure to include chicken in this recipe so that the dish becomes a balanced meal, providing protein, fat and carbohydrates while taking into consideration healthy portions. Enjoy!
Dry shampoo is a staple for just about every woman I know, so it’s only right that we ask thousands of women in the community to determine the absolute best dry shampoo. With so many options out there, I myself even found it hard to determine which is the best overall, the bang for you buck, the best smelling, and which yields the best look for my hair.
We got reviews from both our LG Team and all of you in the LG community. Here are all the favorites for the best dry shampoo as well as reviews to help you determine which will be best for you.
This is not only my favorite dry shampoo but also is one of our top team picks. I also saw an overwhelming majority of the community love it as well. Personally, I like this shampoo because it actually cleans your hair. The product description reads: “fast-absorbing powders soak up oil and sweat while our patented Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA) helps you remove the powders easily from hair, resulting in actually clean hair.”
One team member added she liked the fact that it was silicone free, paraben free, and cruelty free. She also loved that the next day her scalp did not feel itchy and felt it had even more volume. I also notice instant volume when I use this product.
This dry shampoo was another one that was a top team and LG community pick. We love this one for its amazing scent; no seriously, it smells like a hair perfume. The other great benefit we found as the name “perk up” suggest… it truly does lift and add tremendous volume to your hair. It will leave your hair clean and refreshed with no white residue. That great smell and volume is just another wonderful benefit.
This is the third and final one that made both our teams top picks as well as the LG Community member’s top picks. This one was HIGHLY recommended by the community. At around $5 a bottle, the value for effectiveness is unbeatable. There are many different scents which may be a personal preference. Our team prefers the original scent. The LG team member who swears by this product has blonde hair and mentioned it does leave a residue that slightly lightens the color of your hair if you don’t use it sparingly. However, she mentioned that is why she loves it… root touch up and dry shampoo. If you’re blonde… this may be your new favorite. Just a note: countless women with darker hair mentioned it as a favorite as well.
We love this one for the great price point as well as the scent. There are other scents from this line but our team member said the coconut scent is her personal favorite. She also mentioned it adds great volume; she applies the product, brushes it out and teases her hair for a final results that gives a clean, blow-out look. She loves how soft and smooth it leaves her hair and said its perfect for that one last day you’re trying got hold out before washing.
I had to mention this one… this is one of my personal favorite dry shampoos when I have a bit of grease. I was actually sent this by PopSugar in a sample box awhile back. I could only find it available directly from their website, I just had to include it. It is in a powder form that you massage into your scalp but is extremely lightweight. I mostly love it because it does not leave a gritty texture or change the color of my hair which is so important to me. I also think its very cool that that they offer both a light and dark version depending on your hair color.
The most expensive option on the list but I read multiple comments saying it is worth the money! Great for blow outs as it helps prevent damage. I also read you love how smooth & silky it leaves your hair without leaving and white residue or gritty feeling.
I saw you guys love this one and honestly it has been one I’ve been wanting to try! It is suppose to help even the most oily hair and the detoxing charcoal powder helps lift the dirt and build-up on your hair while odor eliminating, creating a fresh clean scent.
