Happy Cinco de Mayo, my loves! A fun and celebratory day can easily turn into a sugar and alcohol filled fiasco. I wanted to provide you with two healthy (low cal and low carb) margarita recipes so you can enjoy without feeling guilty! My personal favorite is the strawberry margarita – there’s fruit in it, so it must be healthy, right?!
The Traditional Healthy Margarita
Ingredients:
-1/4 c tequila
-Juice from 2 limes
-Ice
-5-10 drops of liquid stevia or agave for sweetness
-Sea salt for the rim
-Lime wedge to granish
Directions:
-Shake all ingredients and pour over ice or blend
-Optional: pour course sea salt over a plate and dip the rim of a margarita glass
The Healthy Strawberry Margarita
Ingredients:
-1/4 c tequila
-Juice from 2 limes
-3 strawberries
-Ice
-5-10 drops of liquid stevia or agave for sweetness
Directions:
-Blend all ingredients
Health Tip: Enjoy your healthy margaritas responsibly and in moderation. Stick to a 2 drink maximum and be sure to have a glass of water in between cocktails! Look and feel fabulous all cinco de mayo long by staying properly hydrated and having fun!
