Hamstrings & Glutes – 4/3

Hamstrings & Glutes:
-seated leg curls
-smith machine squats
-barbell deadlifts
-dumbbell plie squats
-smith machine donkey kicks

*The key to any isolation movement is to keep focusing on contracting that muscle
*Focus on high reps & really squeezing those hams & glutes

TIP OF THE DAY: Today on my Instagram I posted a picture of my “preworkout snack.” I usually don’t eat “snacks,” but occasionally you just find that your meal times & gym times are off, and you need to a little something to hold you over! My go-to preworkout snack is an apple with a tablespoon or two of natural nut butter. With fruit, it is all about timing; pre and post workouts are great time to incorporate fruit as they are faster digesting carbs.

This could quite possibly be my best hamstrings & glutes workout ever – my butt is sore all the way to the bone 😉 Now time for some proper recovery (high protein & carb dinner) & rest (lots of sleep & no cardio tomorrow) to get it to GROW 🙂

What kind of headphones do you wear during your workouts??? I hate my iPhone ear buds and have been looking for a good pair with no success 🙁
    Thank you!

Beats by dre solos – I like them. Some people don't think they're worth the money but they don't even compare to ear buds!

My little gym doesn't have the seated leg curl machine, would the lying leg curls be as good or what do you suggest?

    • Fitness Barbie

YES – definitely; all my workouts can be modified to what you have available!

I have a video regarding this on my youtube channel (FitnessBarbieALRI) that you may find helpful! high reps/lighter weight = fat burning; lower reps/heavier weight = building muscle
