3 Recipes You Must Try ASAP from the Warm + Toasty Cookbook

My mission is always to make healthy eating as easy and enjoyable as possible. I’m pretty stinkin’ confident the new Warm + Toasty Cookbook accomplished that. Anyway, back to the recipes… if I see ingredients that I don’t commonly have in my kitchen or if the instructions are too long, the meal isn’t happening for me lol. I know so many of you are the same, so that’s one of the top reasons I love these easy peasy recipes.
Also, I’m totally all about healthy eating but I also need meals that satisfy my cravings. I don’t know if it’s my pregnant self or what, but lately, if I eat a “boring” healthy meal, I finish and am hungry (or mentally hungry lol) 3 minutes later. These meals are so delicious that I feel full for so long because I’m that satisfied.
Here are 3 of my top recipe picks from the new cookbook if you’re looking for a place to start.

PIZZA SANDWICH

Why I love it: well, obviously I love anything pizza lol. This meal comes together in 10-12 minutes and is way more delicious than it looks and sounds.
When I usually make/eat it: this is such a fast meal to make and a hit with everyone in my house, so I whip these up real quickly for Anthony and I when we are hungry in the afternoon or need a fast lunch. I’ve also made this, wrapped it in foil and taken it on the go (just bring a napkin lol)
Recipe Notes: I don’t like a lot of sauce on my pizza but my husband does, so you can play with how saucy you want your sandwich by adding more or less. I’m also totally into sprouted grain bread (ex: Ezekiel bread) I find it easy on my tummy, not too cardboard tasting for a healthy bread and the ingredient profile is great!
 

CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD

Why I love it: it’s already made! If I can make something that has leftovers, I’m all about it. Because I eat this with my breakfast, it makes for such an easy start to my morning and I can take it with me in the car if I’m on the go. I love how much of this I can have for 1 serving and the subtly sweet flavor of this bread is so devine.
When I usually make/eat it: believe it or not, this is my go-to breakfast along with a protein shake. I also enjoy it as a carbohydrate option in any of my later meals, especially if I’m craving something sweet.
Recipe Notes: with recipes like this, I always like to nail the recipe a time or two then experiment. I’m already thinking making this a banana nut bread the next time around.
 

SPAGHETTI CRUST CASSEROLE

Why I love it: this recipe is the winner of… BEST REHEATABLE MEAL! When I first made this for my husband, he said, “it’s really good, but not out of the park great.” He then reheated a little bit up later when he was hungry and looked at me and said, “oh my gosh, it’s really good… even better reheated.” It’s so true! You won’t believe it until you try it, but this meal is actually better the next day. It’s easy to make and you have leftovers (delicious ones!) for the entire week.
When I usually make/eat it: I like to make a fresh batch for dinner then use the leftovers as the next day’s lunch as well as meals later in the week.
Recipe Notes: for the meat, you can use anything that fits your preference. I prefer all natural, lean ground beef. I used to love to make it with ground turkey. And my dad actually asks for me to make this with a 50:50 mix of ground beef : all natural sausage (that makes it extra flavorful!)
