Nutrition alone will not work the deep core muscles as we age (and especially not after pregnancy)
Weight training & typical ab workouts don’t always effectively target the deepest layers of core muscle.
That “lower belly pooch” is NOT always body fat and can actually be a sign of weak core strength.
If you’re looking to lose weight in your core, a calorie deficit is definitely going to be a necessary step but do not overlook the importance of deep core training too! Cutting calories alone does not heal diastasis recti or strengthen the deep core, which is why training AND nutrition are important.
