My 6 Minute Ab Workout video series has been a hit on Instagram, so I wanted to create a lower ab workout version. The lower abs are one of the top target areas for women in general and myself included.
1 THING YOU MUST KNOW ON THE BEST LOWER AB WORKOUT
Spot targeting is one of the biggest fitness myths and one of the greatest marketing scams. Spot targeting is the idea that you can pick and choose where you lose fat. Science shows us that fat loss is a systemic process, meaning it’s out of our control. Typically, the first place we gain is the last place we lose. For me, this is my lower abs!
This workout will not help you lose lower abdomen fat. It’s so important for me to teach you that because I was a victim of marketing hyper for so long and believed article titles like “blast lower ab fat with this workout.” Don’t believe it and don’t believe the person who told you that either ;):)
Now… the good news… this workout can help you tight and strengthen the lower ab muscles, which can ultimately lead to a flatter stomach. Also, workouts in general burn calories, aiding in fat loss.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO THIS LOWER AB WORKOUT
I am going to be doing this ab workout 2x per week during the Fall Challenge. I don’t mind repeating an ab workout for a few weeks in a row because for me, it’s more about “feeling” the exercises to make the workout effective.
If you loved the 6 minute series, follow this workout for 1 round. Or, if you prefer slightly longer ab workouts, complete 2-3 rounds total.
