Ladies, train that back! So many of us (myself included) want to pass up on working out our back muscles. If you have a second… please read these 3 reasons on why including back workouts in your routine regularly is important!

 

WHY TO WORKOUT YOUR BACK MUSCLES

1. POSTURE – the posterior chain (muscles on the backside) and their strength are critical in keeping proper posture. Many people actually recommend training the back 2-3x for every time you workout a muscle on the front side of the body (ie: chest) to further help keep the body properly aligned.

2. SMALLER WAIST – fit back muscles, specifically the lats which run down the sides of you back can create the illusion of an even smaller waistline.

3. BICEPS – movements that target the back muscles also often recruit the biceps muscles. These exercises are tpyically “pulling” movements like rows, pulldowns, pull ups, etc. Working your back is a great way to work the arms too!
