TIP OF THE DAY: Have confidence in a busy weight room. This may seem obvious, but I get a lot of questions about how to feel comfortable around weights and where to start. As women, we may not feel like the weight section belongs to us as much as it does to the men. WRONG 😉 Confidence is key. If you act like you don’t belong and show you’re uncomfortable, you will find yourself lost in a sea of meatheads. Go in with a plan! Know which weights your taking/what machines you’re using. Have confidence in using them and don’t be afraid to step on some people’s toes a bit – if you wait around for a machine, someone else will surely snatch it, so be bold 🙂

I had to snap a picture of my school weight room today! This picture doesn’t do it justice as to how busy it gets – imagine 3x that amount of guys in a small weight room where at all times you are literally within 12 inches of someone else. Yes, I’m the only girl there! I rarely feel uncomfortable; in fact, it’s typically just the opposite. I’m more fearful of some of these college kids throwing around (literally) extremely heavy weight improperly – I don’t want to see them or me getting injured over, especially over someone else’s lack of common sense!
It was one of those put on a hat & pretend you’re invisible type of days =P
