I love being tan! Who doesn’t right?!. I swear that a nice tan makes me look and feel better. I’m thinking of my mother-in-law’s favorite line: “if you can’t tone it, tan it.” Personally, I often reach for self tanners because they are quick and easy, and I can do it by myself right at home.
Growing up in Wisconsin where I couldn’t be outside in the sun for the majority of the year, I self tanned… A LOT. I have not only tried a lot of products, but also I have tried a lot of techniques. I have perfected my self tanning routine..
Over the years, I found the best products to exfoliate, apply, and extend as well as some of the best self tanners for concealing my leg blemished, ones with natural ingredients, and the deepest tan option.
I will share below as well as my routine for using them.

This gives me the DEEPEST tan. If you’re looking for tan that makes you look like you just got back from a tropical vacation, this is the best you’ll get. I am also terrible at remembering to self tan ahead of time, so this gives you color in 2 hours or less!
I call this “body make up” because it acts as one part concealer and one part instant self tanner. I will use this right before I go out to an event… it provides a nice tan color but also makes my arms and legs look like a barbie doll / airbrush finish.
Warning – it does rub off onto things so be careful but it also very easily washes off in the shower.
I apply this a day or so after I apply the color. It is the best for helping to extend your color.
