Today’s upper body strength workout targets the back and chest, which are the “large” muscle groups on the upper body. To turn up the intensity, complete 1 minute of jumping jacks in between each movement. Remember, these strength workouts are intended to shape and sculpt through using challenging weight. The target rep range is 10 repetitions, so choose a weight that allows you to get 9-11ish reps while keeping proper form. As a general guide…if you can perform more than 11 reps, up the weight; if you cannot perform 9 reps, lower the weight. Complete 3 sets of the suggested movement before moving onto the next exercise – this is a contrasting style to a circuit workout!

Tasty Tuesday Tip: If you haven’t been introduced to Tasty Tuesday before, allow me to do the honors. Today’s tip is dedicated to your taste buds…it’s about helping you enjoy healthy eating and sharing another nutritious and delicious recipe with you! A large part of making healthy eating a lifestyle choice as opposed to a temporary solution is finding a way to make it work for your schedule. I’m going to assume you’re much like me ((it always blows my mind how similar us LG girls really are)) and you’re a busy bee. While french toast and omelets pique my interest at breakfast time, they just don’t fit my lifestyle. Instead of forcing it, I find an alternative that I love just as much, such smoothies and egg muffins ((you’re going to love today’s recipe)). If you too are short on time in the mornings, pick healthy options that work for you…one’s that can be quickly blended and slurped on the morning commute or ones that can easily be reheated. This is just an example for meal 1, but it works for every meal throughout the day. Take a look at your schedule and see what your lifestyle needs are, then find healthy food options to fit that mold.

Hey Lauren! Do you implement cardio into these workouts or just do it on separate days? Thanks 🙂
Hi Claudia! A little bit of both. Today, it's integrated into the workout. Tomorrow, it will be a full cardio day 🙂 Great question!
Hi Lauren,
For these workouts, should we do the 3 sets in a row, followed by the jumping jacks? Or do we do 1 round of each exercise, with jumping jacks in between, and then repeat 2 more times?
Lauren <3!
Yes, I had the same question. I wasn't sure if it was jumping jacks after every single movement or after the 3 sets.
Need to try this
