Leg Day – Glute Activating Strategy

^^JOKING 🙂 ^^
Glute Activator Movement: A lot of women struggle to activate and therefore target their glutes ((booty)) in a leg workout. This is common when other muscles, such as the hamstrings or quadriceps are the dominant muscle in which case they will try to take on the work load first in a compound movement. A strategic plan to get around this is to begin the leg workout with an exercise to “activate” the glute muscles. If you’re looking to sculpt, lift, and tighten that backside, try beginning today’s workout with the movements below.

Tip of the Day: Can you believe it’s already August?! August gives me the same feeling that having 2 days left on vacation provides: that feeling where you know it ((the vacation or summer)) is nearing the end, but you’re still trying to enjoy what’s left. Do you get that too?! Staying focused this month will come from setting goals. I like to set goals in these categories: personal, career and health (broken down into fitness & nutrition).

3 August Goals of Mine You Can Adopt Too:
(1) COMMIT TO CARDIO: Phase 3 of LGSummerFitcation, or more specifically the
workout that are found in Fit For Life & Total Body Transformation
increase in intensity and incorporate more cardio. Phase 3 is the
results phase and revealing results comes from a decrease in overall
body fat, which this phase is particularly helpful at. Therefore, I need
to trust in the process and commit to the cardio instead of skipping
out on it!
(2) AIM BIG: I write goals each month as I know a lot of us do. Have you ever looked at your goals and realized they’re things you will most likely accomplish? For instance, a goal of running 3x per week isn’t that out there if you’re someone who already runs several days per week. Let’s get in the habit of stretching our goals to really push us! I read that we should only hit our goals 50% of the time…it’s an indication that the goals are big enough but not too far-fetched. Here’s to a month of BIG goals!
(3) WEBSITE FACELIFT: Here’s a BIG personal goal of mine. August 12th is LaurenGleisberg.com’s birthday. Each birthday, I gift her a facelift consisting of little tweaks on the website for a more updated look with a goal of it being even more user friendly. It’s typically pretty time-consuming and well thought out. However, this year, I have made zero plans. Pulling this off during August is a huge goal for me! What is a biggg goal of yours??
