Chest & Triceps – 1/2

Chest:
-Push ups
-Flat bench barbell press
-Incline dumbbell press
     superset with incline dumbbell flyes
-Plank with alternating on/off hands on bosu ball push ups (pictured)

Triceps:
-Reverse grip cable pushdowns
-Lying cable rope extensions
     superset with bench dips

Lying cable rope extensions! One of my favorite staple tricep movements for keeping the back of the arms tight, but to keep from over-doing the exercise, try this variation. It also helps keep the elbows from wiggling around to force to workload onto just the triceps.

Tip of the Day: On my meal plans, I occasionally include either Ezekiel bread or brown rice bread. Bread is something we all love and something we learn to love to hate. However, not all breads are created equal. So, why does bread get a bad rap? Common marketing labels bread as bad because it is high in carbs; well, most of us would recognize that carbs themselves are not bad, but we must learn to distinguish between healthy carbs and bad carbs (=carb quality). The majority of breads (ie: white and even wheat) are highly refined carbs, often high in sodium, and have a laundry list of ingredients. This Food For Life brand brown rice bread is my favorite – the first ingredient is brown rice, the list of ingredients is rather short, and all ingredients are understandable/justified. Plus, it’s tasty!
