Healthy Habit #4: (( WAKE UP ))
The first hour of the morning has been termed the “golden hour” by recent studies because how of the incredible impact that one hour has on one’s mood throughout the rest of the day! If we make healthy choices in that first hour, we set ourselves up for success the rest of the day! For this reason, I workout in the morning; it not only serves as the world’s best “happy pill” all day long, but also it provides me more willpower and motivation to make healthier food choices in addition to the great energy boost! Making the most of your morning adds to an overall healthy lifestyle!
Morning workouts aren’t for everyone, and it’s perfectly okay and equally beneficial to workout later in the day. Still, I highly suggest doing something in the morning to set the tone for health and happiness. For instance, 5 minutes on and off of jumping jacks, a short walk with the dog, or a dance party while getting ready ((which surprisingly can be quite a challenging cardio workout – I’m so serious)). Work to elevate that heart rate and get that blood pumping first then in the morning even if it’s just for a few minutes!


My Workout Check In: 
I’m still in Austin for a relaxing birthday getaway, and Anthony and I have been waking up to go for hikes. I’ve lived in Texas for two years now, and I must say Austin is my favorite city in the state! This Texas hill country is incredibly scenic and breathtaking…it makes the simplest of moments that much more memorable! I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday with my love!
