These are the best of the best infant toys. Many of these toys keep my kids entertained for 20+ minutes, which is an eternity in mom world. These aren’t 5 specific toys rather 5 toy categories with lots of options. Also, I picked several ones that grow with your children (my favorite kinds of toys). My little Beckham at 11 months plays with many of these just as much as my 2 1/2 year old). I hope your little ones enjoy these infant toys as much as mine do.
these are items that we love to bring on stroller walks, car rides + on the airplane
Baby Einstein Ocean Glow Sensory Shaker (here)
if you get one on this list, get this; I don’t know why but it’s magic. It instantly calms Beckham and when I shared about it, several other moms echoed this magic. It was a lifesaver on our most recent plan ride.
Melissa & Doug Flip Fish Baby Toy (here)
there’s thing to look at, touch, bite, etc. This more advanced flap toy keeps Beckham entertained because there is so much to do and I love how it keeps his little fingers working.
Fat Brain Toys popSquigz (here)
we love to pop these on the high chair before/during./after meal time to keep our kids busy. They also love to use them as shakers and connect them
Fat Brain Dimpl Baby + Todder Toy (here)
both Beckham (11 mo) + Leo (2 1/2 years) play with this. I love toys that are fun at different ages and stages. This was sold out around the holidays so it must be a hit in a lot of homes.
My little ones just love to play with ball toys, and I love them too because it’s fun for the entire family.
O Ball Classic Ball (here)
Both my boys started with these at just a few months old because they’re easy to grasp. They actually preferred these over any types of rattles.
Infantino Balls, Blocks, & Buddies Toy Set (here)
A variety of textures, colors + numbers (fun for Leo to play with alongside his brother). The perfect sized objects for little ones and they make for great teething toys.
Knobby Balls (6 pack) (here)
These are probably our current favorite toys. Like I said, balls become a family activitiy. Leo kicks them. Beckham throws and rolls. Anthony and I get involved in playing catch too. We slightly under inflate so it’s easier for Beckham to hold. I can’t say enough good things about these.
First 100 Words (here)
Our most read book. At a younger age, my boy would learn to point to the object. Now Leo enjoys being quizzed and telling me what everything is. I like the small size because it easily fits in a purse or diaper bag. We also love the First 100 Trucks Version (here)
Where is Baby’s Belly Button? (A Lift-the-Flap Book) (here)
Any books by Karen Katz always seem to be my kid’s favorites
Our Little Love Bug! (here)
Similar to the magic rattle, this is a magical book. Beckham gravitates towards this book and it was the first one he would sit for several minutes and listen too. Personally, I like the adorable message.
VTech Activity Cube (here)
We have gotten so much use out of this toy. Both my kids used this when they first learned to sit.. they would hold onto it to help stabilize and play. There is so much to do and I find that at 2 1/2, Leo will occasionally pull it out and play with it.
VTech Drop and Go Dump Truck (here)
Another favorite… there are 3 balls or “rocks” that I loved watching my kids learn how to put into the dump truck whole. The sit and play with this forever!
Fischer Price Stacking Rings + Shape Sorter Bundle (here)
A classic that every little one seems to love.
CRAWLING + WALKING TOYS
Fischer Price Zoom ‘n Crawl Monster (here)
This is a fun one that has options to 1) stay in place or 2) move as your little one learns to crawl. Both my boys stay so entertained by this one.
Baby Einstein Music Table (here)
My boys loved to pull up and stand along this one. There is so much to do and I love the music components as well as the Spanish options too.
