Oh Monday…Monday represents a fresh start and a new beginning, so allow it to be just that! If you’re anything like me, you enjoyed your weekend and maybe even enjoyed an indulgence or two! Don’t feel guilty about it! A healthy lifestyle is one that acknowledges moderation; moderation includes a missed workout on occasion and an unhealthy meal every now and then.
A successful, healthy lifestyle also requires discipline. It takes discipline to find time in a busy day for a workout or to pass up a cookie offered to you by a coworker. Practice makes perfect, so don’t beat yourself up when your discipline is lacking – keep persisting!
WELCOME TO MY SUNDAY:
Salmon at Grand Lux Cafe, but what didn’t make it into the picture is the bread loaf I ate prior to the meal.
And there was still room for dessert!
That’s mine in the right corner… peanut butter and vanilla froyo topped with Girl Scout thin mint cookies – how could a girl pass that up?!
This is me – living and loving life guilt free! The big smile is due to enjoying good food, even better company, and knowing my discipline will get me right back on track.
3 SIMPLE MOVES TO JUMP BACK ON TRACK:
(1) Grocery shop ASAP – filling your fridge and pantry with your favorite healthy food items will get you excited and looking forward to jumping into your healthy routine. They key is to purchase your very favorite items…it’s truly worth the splurge to buy the pricier salmon or that dried fruit you can’t always justify. Do what you have to do to set yourself up for success!
(2) Drink water – it’s something that you’ll hear every health and wellness guru repeat like a broken record because it works! Drinking water regularly, especially after an unhealthy meal; many treat meals often contain high levels of additives and sodium, which can lead to bloating. Water will help pass toxins through the body. You may enjoy my “go-to detox drink” recipe
(3) Stay busy – too much time on your hands can be a dangerous thing. Stay busy and stay moving to reduce the amount of times you find yourself wandering through the kitchen or planted on the couch, craving a snack.
