Legs (hamstrings & glutes emphasis) – 2/4

AM: 30min light cardio (pic – I forgot to turn of my HR monitor after cardio, so the extra 10 came from my walk home)

PM: Legs (hamstrings & glutes emphasis):
-seated leg curls
     -superset with jump squats
-stiff legged deadlifts
      -superset with alternating jumping lunges
-standing glute kickbacks
     -superset with box jumps
          -superset with walking lunges

TIP OF THE DAY: Gym etiquette! Knowing the “unofficial rules” around the gym is extremely important in being able to master the weight area. The cardio section of the gym is pretty easy to understand – pick a machine that is open & not right next to someone if possible. Clean off your machine when done. However, in the weight room, there are a few more etiquette tips! Tip number one: don’t hog the equipment (my personal pet peeve)! Especially if your gym is limited on machines, be mindful of what space you are taking up. For a workout that involves a lot of supersets, it’s not proper gym etiquette to take up three machines at once. On the flip side, don’t think you can use a machine and come back 10 minutes later still thinking it is “yours.” The more time you spend in the weight room, the more familiar you will become with gym etiquette.

Still incorporating a mix of heavy lifting and lighter weights with high rep/high volume training

FitnessBarbie Stye: Instead of simply telling you where my clothing comes from, I thought it would be fun to help create a look that you have right in your own closet! Begin with a baggy sweater, add a pair of skinny jeans or leggings, and throw in a splash of color! Today my pop of color was my blue, fuzzy moccasins, so I opted for a neutral colored scarf. A bold scarf and neutral shoes would be another great option! Perfect comfy, casual look for class or running errands!
