Working on that leg definition! Love seeing lines in my legs!
Happy first workout of a wonderful 8 weeks! Take each of these workouts seriously – 1 leg workout down, only 7 to go before 2014 and before we are at our happiest, healthiest selves.
Fitness Barbie Gym Style:
Top: Forever21
Shorts: Lululemon
Shoes: Nike Frees
Tip of the Day: Progress pictures! Take them. I will be the first to admit it’s awkward and uncomfortable to stand in front of a mirror half clothed, taking pictures of yourself. I am a firm believer in NOT using the scale as means of measuring progress. I use collage apps to put pictures side by side to track my progress. My tips – take the pictures in the same mirror with the same lighting around the same time of the day and in the same positions to help keep the pictures consistent. Take them NOW at the beginning of the 8 weeks and follow up on a weekly basis; I like to take mine every Saturday or Sunday. I hope you find this to be a more positive approach on tracking results.
Daily Dose of Motivation: Be what you want to see in the world around you. Have you noticed that when you’re in a bad mood that everyone around you seems to be “annoying” or “irritating.” On the flip side, have you noticed that when you’re in a bubbly, positive mood, others around you seem to act in the same way. Exude those positive, kind emotions that you want to feel from others!
Eat Clean to Get Lean: Infusion water is a great alternative to sodas/juices or a yummy variation of traditional water. One of my favorite fruity combinations: strawberry, lemon, and orange.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: What are your favorite infusion water concoctions?

I have got to get one of these! My favorite water has been a prickly pair infused one. They had it at a Tucson resort and it was fantastic!! I always love a summer watermelon with some strawberries.

Lauren, first I want to say that I love your workouts! My question is for the diagonal lunges, what is the difference between using dumbbells and kettlebells? I find it easier to use the kettlebell because it has a handle, but I didn't know if there was a reason to use a dumbbell instead. Thanks!!

Either way works! If you prefer kettlebells, go ahead and use those!
