Words cannot express how much I love leg day. I’ve been challenging myself in each leg workout by implementing an exercise I don’t normally do. Today’s challenge was all about box squats – get low, keep control, and engage those glutes!

Tip of the Day: Breaking through fear tip! The smith machine is a piece of equipment I used to become more
comfortable with squatting when I first began lifting. There is a
certain “fear” that exists with certain exercises that you can find ways
to overcome by using machines to get the hang of the movement. I like
the smith machine for this reason – I’ve also used this fear buster with
the chest press and shoulder press. Other than being able to lock the bar at any height if you cannot complete the movement, there are also safety stoppers that you can set to catch the bar. When I first got into lifting weights, I would YouTube videos of exercises to watch individuals completing movements and to better understand how to preform the exercise.
