“There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.” I’ve been putting a lot of effort and energy into my training, meals, and all around healthy habits. I found the 1 hour spent in the gym is the “easy” part, and it’s the other 23 hours where the real challenge sets in. Know that it WILL take hard work and it won’t always be easy, but it’s always worth it!

Tip of the Day: MOTIVATION MONDAY! I bet you’ve had a workout made great due to the music playlist you were listening to. I know that, for me, having the right songs lined up is the difference between an extra mile on the treadmill or a few more reps at the squat rack! More than the right tunes powering you through a workout, pump-up music adds to that euphoric feeling experienced after a workout. I’ve included my quick workout playlist for today’s workout below and 2 tips I suggest!

Tip 1: Plan ahead – there’s nothing worse than hitting the next arrow 25x before finding the right song. Be sure you plan ahead by creating a little playlist before heading to the gym so that you’re all set for your workout!

Tip 2: Hit shuffle – let the music flow without intervention. If you’ve created a good playlist, you know its full of songs you love, so focus more on the workout and less on the music…after all…it’s why you’re at the gym, right?!

I have a question: I know that basically log your workouts and meals by offering them for sale and posting them but do you keep track of them in one singular place, like a journal? If you do, do you include any other information with it like how you were feeling that day, sleep habits, etc.? Thanks so much in advance! P.S. – Loving the new website!

      Hi Stacy,
I do have a training journal, but it has become copy & pastes between my journal and the blog. I actually don't include things like how I felt or sleep habits, but that would be an excellent thing to add especially because I believe health is so multifaceted; sleep patterns highly affect your overall health, so that would also be something really beneficial to track.

I'm also thinking of things like muscle soreness, outside activities (if you went on a walk with your dog or walked around shopping), overall energy levels, emotional factors affecting the day.

      Thanks for the comment!
