Cardio Day – 3/19

Cardio Day:
-5 min walking (warm up)
-30 min jogging (heart rate constant – 150ish bpm)
-5min walking (cool down)

TIP OF THE DAY: Cardio is not always the answer! That is something I’m sure we all like to hear 😉 In the past, after getting off track of my training/diet, I would always resort to excess cardio thinking that would get me back to where I needed to be. However, you can burn just as many calories if not more in an equal length weight training session as compared to a cardio session. Additionally, calorie burning will continue following the completion of weight training, whereas it will not continue following steady-state cardio. The best results come from a combination of both, instead of neglecting one or the other all together!

Very surprised to still be seeing definition in those legs after a week off my usual diet. I accredit that to eating “healthier” even if I’m not eating what I usually do – for those tips check out my video blog on “how to stay on track on vacation” on my YouTube channel (FitnessBarbieALRI)
