Back, Glutes & Weighted Abs – 9/19

Back:
-Single arm dumbbell rows
     -Superset with assisted pull ups
-Bent over barbell row
     -Reverse rows on smith machine
-Single arm cable rows

Glutes:
-Weighted hyperextensions
-Cable kickbacks
     -Superset with alternating jumping lunges
-Single leg dumbbell deadlifts

Weighted Abs:
3 movements, using weight to build the core muscles; available on downloadable version

Yesterday, I shared the quote “do one thing a day that scares you.” Just to provide you all with an example of that, today, I attempted on my own to max out on pull ups non-assisted; this is definitely something I want to challenge myself with week to week and work on progressing.
Daily Dose of Motivation: I had my first dental school interview yesterday. For those of you who have interviewed for professional programs, you know that you can prepare as much as possible, but in the interview anything can happen conversation wise. During one of my interviews, I shared my philosophy on determination, being “change the plan but never the goal.” After I said that, I really reflected on it. There have been so many times in my life where something didn’t work out and I just thought it wasn’t meant to be; who knows if I would have changed the route to that goal if it would have worked out. Can you think of instances in your own life similar to this? Don’t ever give up on your dreams – failures are reminders that your plan may need altering…. stay committed to the goal!
