Arms Circuit – 7/8

Arms Circuit (biceps, triceps, shoulders):
-Arnold style dumbbell shoulder press
-dumbbell bicep curls
-1 min cardio (jumping jacks, jogging in place, jump-rope, etc.)
x3 total

-cable triceps extensions
-triangle push ups
-1 min cardio (jumping jacks, jogging in place, jump-rope, etc.)
x3 total

-barbell upright rows
-barbell bicep curls
–1 min cardio (jumping jacks, jogging in place, jump-rope, etc.)
 x3 total

-dumbbell hammer bicep curls
-dumbbell triceps kickbacks
-1 min cardio (jumping jacks, jogging in place, jump-rope, etc.)
x3 total

-dumbbell side lateral raises (drop sets)

TIP OF THE DAY: Circuits are quickly becoming my favorite form of workouts. Circuits constitute as high intensity interval training (HIIT), so the benefits of the after-burn are associated with circuits, and they are a huge time-saver; I can complete a killer circuit workout in 30 minutes. However, I do find a balance needs to be achieved when it comes to pace. If for instance, you take the first circuit, you complete the Arnold presses and your arms feel like jello, do you push through the curls or take a a few seconds then move into the curls?! That is an example of an individual balance that needs to be found – I do not suggest moving so quickly that you lose focus on the weight training movements. On the flip side, circuits are intended to be more of a cardiovascular challenge, so don’t be afraid to push yourself.

Arm Progress
Daily Dose of Motivation: I’ve
never struggled with weight, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have body
image issues. For the majority of my life, I’ve been skinny and lacked a
shapely figure, which I never thought I could change. While I’ve been
going to the gym regularly for 7 years, only in the past year did I get
serious about my workouts and eating clean. I’ve been able to create the
body I always wanted. I know my before picture isn’t “bad” but I found
it funny that this exact before picture once was my “after” picture that
I was so proud of. No matter what your body looks like, always know you
hold the power to transform it to however you would like!

I forgot to mention on Instagram. I don’t weight myself or even own a scale, but in the picture from July 2013 I actually weigh several pounds more than I did in July 2012, despite the noticeable increase in leanness.
Eat Clean to Get Lean: FAVORITE DINNER AS OF LATE! Grilled salmon seasoned with Mrs. Dash garlic and herb and oregano with a side of sauteed zucchini and risotto.
