Cardio & Ab Circuit (Week of Fat Loss Day 3 of 5) – 4/30

Warm Up:
-Walking

Cardio & Abs:
-Inclined sprint
-Inclined walk
-Jackknife sit ups
-Rest

-Left side shuffles
-Right side shuffles
-Plank
-Rest

-Sprint
-Russian twists
-Rest

 ….repeat entire circuit _x

Don’t be afraid to get unconventional when it comes to your workouts. Instead of cardio followed by abs like I often do, I wanted to combine the two into a circuit. I chose a treadmill on the end and spent a minute or two on the treadmill then a minute or two on the floor next to my treadmill doing some abdominal work. It was fun and made the time fly by!

Tip of the Day: As part of the week of fat loss 1.0 (last week), I shared fat burning tips each day. For the theme of version 2.0, I would like to share tips all week on how to make healthy living enjoyable. It is very common to dive into a fitness/nutrition program instead of taking baby steps; in this case, I believe taking baby steps is the key to lasting restuls.

Workout with friends and family…for two reasons! First, working out with a partner is a great way to stay accountable. If you plan to meet a friend at the gym or a fitness class, you will be more likely to attend to not only stay committed to your goals, but also to keep a commitment to meet your friend. There’s something to be said about being able to push a friend when they needed and vice versa. Secondly, it’s fun and enjoyable! Personally, my boyfriend is who I primarily workout with in the gym, while I attend yoga and fitness classes on occasion with friends. While the goal is to get in a good workout, making it a lifestyle entails learning how to love and enjoy the process.
