TIP OF THE DAY: Cheat meals are important! Cheat meals are not to be feared, in fact, they offer the dieter’s body benefits. When you are dieting, your metabolism begins to slow and you begin to burn fewer calories just sitting there than prior to dieting. A cheat meal means taking in more than your scheduled calories/carb intake, and therefore it revs up your metabolism. I allow myself one scheduled cheat meal per week, but when I’m not cutting down, I actually prefer two smaller cheat “snacks” per week because I hate the sluggish, awful feeling following a large cheat meal. Some individuals do cheat days, but it’s all about suiting your goals, metabolism, and YOU! So there is some happy news – enjoy a yummy cheat meal 🙂
Speaking of food – I’ve been asked a lot lately as to what I eat. My diet changes based upon what I am doing (currently cutting down for the Olympia and a photoshoot, so I am a little stricter than normal). I am obsessed with Instagram lately, so I will try to start posting some of my meal pictures on there for all you foodies 🙂 Follow me @laurengleisberg
