Tip of the Day: My
Friday Fact (a little bit late) I will be sharing personal things about myself and my life every
Friday because I am so grateful for the openness you all have in sharing
your experiences with me.
Fact: I didn’t enjoy the college lifestyle.
Friday Fact (a little bit late) I will be sharing personal things about myself and my life every

Fact: I didn’t enjoy the college lifestyle.
This week’s fact is
dedicated to all you students who ask me to share my college experience
and tips. While I was truly grateful for each day I spent in college, I
didn’t enjoy the “typical college lifestyle.” In fact, I initially
struggled a lot with trying to convince myself that binge drinking, late
nights out and skipping classes was who I had to be in college. WRONG!
I quickly dropped that thinking and started doing college on my own
terms. I worked, traveling the country for work and didn’t blow my money
on alcohol (I promise you will thank yourself for this after
graduation). I skipped parties I didn’t care about and stop worrying
about pleasing people who weren’t my friends (best life lesson). I
worked out and ate healthy on a daily basis, which left me feeling great
from the inside out (a habit that lasts a lifetime). I prioritized
studies over social activities, which has paid of tremendously. I would
consider myself a pretty successful 23yr old and credit a lot of that to
doing college my way. I still had a great time, met lifelong friends,
and learned how to use a degree to succeed. To you students – please
don’t feel obligated to live a college lifestyle shown in movies; stay
true to YOU!

I love the idea of Friday Facts!
I start college in the fall and I am going to do it on my own terms 🙂
Holla for saying it as it is – college lifestyle in movies is bs. I too realized I had to save myself the stupidity and rock my own thing. I love your blog and feel like it will be a great source of finspiration from now on 🙂 <3
