Lifestyle Journal: Bridal Shower Numero Dos + Wedding Update | 3 weeks away from the big day

Last week, two of Anthony’s aunts hosted my second bridal shower! They created the most adorable set up in a room at Hom Woodfire Grill – have you ever eaten there? It was my first time and the food was so delish; plus, the ingredients are locally grown, which is pretty cool!
Here are some shots from the shower – group photo curtsey of the selfie stick Anthony got me last month (still loving that thing) and I had so many requests for outfit details so I put links below!

WEDDING UPDATE:
We are just THREE weeks away from the big day! The last time I did a wedding update, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything I still had to get done and had a bit of that “let’s just get to the wedding” attitude. Now, however, I’m trying to soak in every last moment of being engaged and planning the wedding. The other day I went to the “Wedding” section on Pinterest and my eyes welled up with tears just thinking about how special this time is and how I don’t want to let it go lol. I know this is just the beginning of many moments where you wish you could just slow down time a little.

This week, I have my final dress fitting as well as my hair and make up trial. Anthony and I also have to get our marriage license ((omg!)) as soon as possible and there’s a checklist of about 30 items I need to tackle too! Overall, this week, I’m really going to focus on getting in a really good 1 hour workout where I allow my mind to clear and fueling up with meals that I make from home. I always feel so much better when I stick to my plan, and I just want to feel amazing these upcoming weeks!

Now onto the honeymoon…
MINIMOON:
Anthony and I will be taking what we’re calling a “mini moon” for the week following the wedding somewhere within the US. Ever since moving to Houston and experiencing the humidity and heat, we’ve lost our desire to travel to tropical locations and sit on a beach, so we ruled that out pretty quickly. I’ve found that sometimes the best plans are no plans, so I’m quite excited to see what we come up with last minute. We are both pretty good at making an adventure out of anything, and I’m sure that following the wedding, we will be blissed out wherever we are. If you have any recommendation for adventurous yet serene destinations you’ve loved, please let me know 🙂
HONEYMOON:
This fall, we will be taking our real honeymoon to Europe. Our two week European excursion begins in Italy, goes through France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands before finishing up in London, England. Because of prior work commitments, we couldn’t take this trip right after the wedding, but I’m totally okay with stretching out the honeymoon stage as long as I can 😉 Plus, I think some downtime will be just what we need after the wedding before we take our real honeymoon.

Finally, I want to say thank you to YOU for being so sweet and loving during this incredibly special time in my life. I share just about everything with you, but I didn’t want to annoy you with wedding this and wedding that. I always say that every life experience is twice as joyful when you have someone to share it with, so I really appreciate you sharing in these moments with me! It means a lot! I’ve had such a memorable engagement, so thank you for being a part of it!

I know you said within US but I would recommend Banff, Alberta Canada. Such a beautiful place, loaded with possibilities for a fun active mini moon. So excited for you guys!!

I'm from the Pacific Northwest and we're taking our minimoon in the San Juan Islands for a few days after our wedding this summer. If you're looking for a good combination of adventurous activities and relaxation, I highly recommend checking out Washington/Oregon/British Columbia 🙂

The pictures and view from their website made us excited to see it, so we booked an appointment and found that these guys do not treat you like just some paycheck. The manager and chef from Los Angeles venues both were really amazing.
